August 26, 2019 – The Allen Public Safety Recovery Fund was created after Police Sergeant Scott White was shot while on the job, and his wife had to leave her job while he was recovering. Due to their circumstances, the family ended up suffering financially. After seeing the need for such a program, the Allen Public Safety Recovery Fund continues to exist as a proper 501 (c)3 corporation.
The Allen PSRF helps provide financial assistance to the families of public safety personnel in the case of injury or other such complications that occur while on duty. This helps keeps the families of public safety employees afloat during difficult times in which they’d otherwise be suffering financially.
Their website features a simple layout, allowing people who visit their page to read about their cause while also being able to see how to contribute and attend community fundraising events. Additionally, visitors can take a look at the gallery tab to see what events the Allen PSRF has held in the past and how successful they were.
