Solana Beach, Calif. – July 28, 2020 – Malo’o, the versatile outdoor gear company, launched their second crowdfunding campaign today on Kickstarter for the innovative Lounge Wagon™ with a funding goal of $15,000. The new, all-terrain utility wagon converts to a double chair with umbrella so users can easily haul their gear, then comfortably sit and enjoy their time in the shade.
“Lounge Wagon is the ultimate wagon for your day at the beach, lake, park or sports field. It’s the simple way to haul everything you need, then kick back and enjoy when you get there,” said Phil Kelly, Malo’o owner and Lounge Wagon co-inventor.
Lounge Wagon’s proprietary design includes a durable chassis and all-terrain wheels for easy mobility and cargo transportation, with a long pulling handle that rotates for easy maneuverability. An integrated cargo net keeps everything in its place for quick loading and unloading. Upon arrival, the wagon converts into a two-seat padded lounge chair, with the 10-foot-wide integrated umbrella providing shade. The all-terrain wagon can accommodate 500 pounds and collapses to fit in most standard vehicle trunks, SUVs and minivans. The design also includes multiple pockets to hold phones, wallets, keys, snacks and drinks. Lounge Wagon is made with high-quality, corrosion-resistant materials and durable enough for everyday use.
Lounge Wagon was developed as a collaboration between Chris Crawford, founder of portable pressurized shower company RinseKit, and Kelly, owner of Malo’o. “Chris and I have been friends for years and our companies have become close by selling each other’s products. One day while recounting a family beach day, we realized there needed to be a better way to get everything and everyone there…and the idea for Lounge Wagon was born,” Kelly said.
“How many times have you struggled with chairs, towels, boards and little ones just trying to spend a day at the beach? You’re either dropping items along the way or making multiple trips,” said co-inventor Crawford. “Lounge Wagon is about spending more time enjoying the beach, ball field or your favorite fishing spot and less time and frustration in hauling your gear and getting set up.”
The Kickstarter campaign launches today and will run through August 27th, with a funding goal of $15,000. Early campaign supporters can receive Lounge Wagon when it’s available early next year for an introductory price of $139.
