Atlanta, GA – October 9, 2020 – Noted indie filmmaker Marcus Collins’ new feature film has been nominated as a finalist in the esteemed Peachtree Village International Film Festival this year. Titled “Switched At Love”, the film is a romantic comedy about modern couples and stars leading TV celebs including Danny Arroyo from “Sangre Negra” fame and Shaquita Smith from the popular BET HER series: “The Couch’s Baby Blue”.
The film is written by Marcus Collins who is also the executive producer of the movie, along with Jamal McWhorter, Danny Arroyo and Shaquita Smith. “Switched At Love” is directed by Jamal McWhorter.
This year marks the 15th anniversary of Peachtree Village International Film Festival, a major festival that acknowledges the finest of works in international film, tech and music every year. The 2020 edition of the festival will be hosted virtually, from October 29 to November 1.

“Switched At Love” revolves around the story of 2 couples- Karla (Shaquita Smith) & Jackson (Danny Arroyo) as well as Ariel (Jacky Oh) & Cantrell (Mike Merrill). Despite being together for quite a while, both the couples discover they haven’t found “the one” in their respective partners. Twist in the plot comes when their friends discover the alternate partners are more alike and finally push them to swap partners to find that true love that all have been searching for all this time.

The founder of rising indie film production company “LOUD”, Marcus Collins is a renowned entrepreneur, film producer and consultant. He began his tryst with films with a film class during his college days which finally inspired him to make a full-fledged career in the movie industry later on. Collins founded LOUD in 2016 and over the years, the company has developed, produced, and distributed films in diverse genres including horror, comedy, and thriller. Recently he has written and co-produced a film called “Switched At Love” which has been nominated at the 15th annual PVIFF festival.
Born and raised in Atlanta, GA, Jamal McWhorter is an actor turned film producer/director. Passionate about making quality films, he is mostly interested in comedy, drama and horror genres. McWhorter started his career in films with indie film production company LOUD and is all set to release his directorial debut this year.
The recipient of multiple “Best Actor” awards at various film festivals, Danny Arroyo is an actor, writer, director and producer as well. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Film production and has started in films/TVs/commercials till date. Arroyo is especially famous for portraying the popular detective Christian Santos in the famous TV series “SANGRE NEGRA”.
Shaquita Smith is a leading American actor, producer as well as a motivational speaker. She is especially famous for playing “Ebony Tate-Warren” in “BET Her Presents: The Couch’s Baby Blue” and has also essayed roles in other renowned productions like “NCIS:New Orleans”.
