LAS VEGAS, NV – The Law Office of Joel M. Mann, a criminal defense law firm, announced its partnership today with One Tree Planted as a proud sponsor of the Million Tree Challenge, which aims to plant 1,000,000 trees in California this year.
“It was heartbreaking to see the state where I grew up be ravaged by deadly fires this year,” attorney Joel M. Mann says. “I take pride in helping people out when they’re facing difficult situations. Thus, my interest and partnership in helping California regrow its fire-affected forests with One Tree Planted was just one way I could help.”
The objectives of this new partnership include:
- Supporting California’s reforestation efforts
- Raising awareness about the importance of ecosystem restoration
California’s forests provide innumerable benefits, including clean water and air, recreation, habitat, and beautiful scenery. Healthy forests also play an important role in addressing climate change. Five years of drought and a large-scale bark beetle infestation have seriously damaged California’s forests. In 2017, a record-breaking wildfire season burned more than 1.3 million acres – an area the size of Delaware. In 2020, the fire season has consumed close to 3 million acres, resulting in hundreds of millions of trees that will need to be restored.
By becoming one of 100 companies to sponsor the Million Tree Challenge, the Law Office of Joel M. Mann is not only helping combat the loss of trees but also protecting California’s surface water supply by improving the health of the headwater forests. Trees are essential to the health of our planet, biodiversity, and reducing the harmful effects of climate change. Reforestation is consistently identified by scientists as one of the top solutions to the climate crisis, and the trees planted as part of this initiative will support the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
