Family Interventions in the Time of COVID-19
According to The National Institutes of Health, deaths from meth, opiates, cocaine and alcohol combined is around 190,000 annually.

Los Angeles, California – Alcohol and drugs kill vastly more people every year than COVID. Deaths number in the hundreds of thousands. The fact is, COVID has increased that number by way of the CDC ordering people who are already drug addicts or alcoholics to self-isolate and them giving free government handouts.

“Getting addicts and alcoholics into treatment may be more urgent than ever,” says professional interventionist, Steve Bruno; “We cannot, in our battle with this virus, exacerbate a disease that already kills on average, 18,000 people every month and which grows at a rate of up to 30% each year*.”

Many addicts and alcoholics need to be in treatment, a place where he or she has access to medical care and where COVID-19 protocols are being enforced, as opposed to being “Self-Isolated.” They are already self-isolated and that’s part of the problem of addiction.

Mr. Bruno has years of personal experience with addiction and nearly 20 years as a professional interventionist. He is the author of More Than Hope, a guidebook for families who are trying to help an addicted loved one, and has himself orchestrated over 400 interventions. He is also a member of The Association of Intervention Specialists.
