CAS Prep’s Virtual First Annual Poetry Slam to Mark Close of Its Fall Session is a Resounding Success

CAS PREP, a community educational program has successfully held its first annual Poetry Slam to mark the close of its fall session on Saturday the 19th December 2020. The virtual event saw participation from over 90 scholars, instructors and administrators with supporters from New York City, Pennsylvania, Dist. of Columbia and Ohio viewing it online. The event has once again displayed the infinite potential of children from the community to display their genius and creativity when provided a support structure to affirm those abilities.

CAS Prep is a community based educational program that abides by the belief that children are a family’s ultimate resource and greatest gift which is why they need to be developed to their fullest potential. The organization’s test prep program focuses on preparing 7th and rising 8th grade students for the Specialized High School Admission Test (SHSAT). The Enrichment Program focuses on elevating the educational performance of 1st through 6th graders with programs aimed at helping students excel right from 1 to the 9th grade. 

The tutorial programs also offer one on one session to help students weak in math, and other subjects helping them to catch up and move forward. The organization also offers an Algebra course that teaches students the concepts needed for successful completion of Algebra 1 and introduces Algebra 2.

CAS Prep’s 2021 spring program will help students be more proficient in English and Math and make up for the break in education due to the Pandemic and its impact on regular instruction. Tutors will guide students and help them finish off the school year ready for the next level in their educational journeys. CAS Prep believes that authentic learning is vital to child development and works to develop programs that support the holistic development of its students.
