Gone Local is an app and resource for consumers to find local, organic foods in their area. They give local organic farms, shops that provide local food, and farm-to-table restaurants a platform to advertise their products and services. The creators of Gone Local want to see a return to old eating habits, localizing the way we shop and eat.
Gone Local was founded in Dallas, Texas by Cleo Bayoud and Taylor Springett at the end of 2020. Their goals are to reduce the every-day carbon foot print of the average American, and to promote healthier eating habits. They believe that local, organic, and seasonal food should be the ‘norm’ when eating
When using Gone Local’s app, people can shop all of the local, organic farms, grocery stores and restaurants in their area and even filter the results if they have dietary restrictions or preferences. If someone wanted to shop local beef or veggies, they need only adjust the filter. ‘Favorite’ certain items, grocery stores, farms and restaurants to find them easily when a customer is ready to shop or eat. Contact these stores and farms in-app to connect and get answers to any questions!
Customers can purchase food items directly from the app and enjoy having such easy access to the healthiest foods. Customers will receive order updates so they always know the status of their purchase. With news shops, farms and products being added every day, Gone Local is making it easier for everyone to eat locally and support local communities.
