After 17 years of service, Alexis’ brand’s success is an inspiration to military members

Founder and CEO of Aloha Glamour, Alexis Williams’ is excited to announce that her brand will be showing during the NYFW. As a US Afghan Vet who medically retired 2 years ago, Alexis’ story is a sensational one and an inspiration to military members.

Her brand, Aloha Glamour, nicknamed Afro-Waiin Boutique produces exclusive fashion forward and sustainable apparel that serves a diverse clientele. Inspired by a unique blend of African and Hawaiian fashion and fabric, Aloha Glamour was birthed from the desire to live a life full of colour. The brand prides itself on providing inspiring styles, a zest for life and impeccable customer service.

The brand which came to life after the tragic loss of Alexi’s daughter has gone on to create a huge impact in the women community and also in Africa. According to Alexi, ‘‘I did not start my business because I fell in love with fashion or African prints. I started Aloha Glamour to fill a void when my daughter, Lauren Taylor, was born and shortly thereafter died while I was stationed in Hawaii in 2015.  To be perfectly honest, everything I saw was in black and white for a long time after my loss.  When I finally started to see a glimpse of color again, I started my business. I initially started Aloha Glamour to keep her memory alive, but it is more than African and Hawaiian apparel to me.’’

Aloha Glamour has continually empowered women to love themselves and use their voices while living their best lives in color. Alongside empowering women, Aloha Glamour supports children and local artisans in Ghana, Kenya, and Nigeria.

‘‘Supporting our brand directly supports the livelihoods of 8 artisans in Accra, Ghana and their families and well as a portion of the sales are donated to The Ebenezer KCC, a free school for over 50 students that we are currently building a class room, wash room, and proper kitchen for,’’ says Alexis.

As an author, advocate, creative mogul, and CEO, Alexis has always been in the limelight. She styled Tamika from the hit Bravo TV show, Southern Charm. She has been honored on many platforms and has received several awards including the 2019/2020 Top 50 Black Women in Business in MS; 2019 Top Influencer Recipient, Gulf Coast Women’s Magazine. Her brand has also been featured on Forbes, BNC and Travel Noire

Alexis hopes that each customer is able to tell story with every Aloha Glamour piece they wear. She also hopes to inspire every military member to hold on to their entrepreneurial dreams.
