Saving the Planet – Debra Smalley’s Newly Released Children’s Book Teaches the Importance of Recycling

Los Angeles, California, USA – November 19, 2021 – Dynamic businesswoman and author Debra Smalley has released her new children’s book, Izzy’s Trash Mountain Mystery. Her new book takes young children on a fascinating journey where they not only develop a love for reading and storytelling, but also learn valuable life lessons. Complete with colorful and imaginative illustrations, the book aims to educate budding young minds about the importance of family, friends and the planet.

Izzy’s Trash Mountain Mystery is inspired by Debra Smalley’s real-life relationship with her grandson Izzy. The book uses superhero characters to help children learn about the value of recycling. The book provides a special way for both grandparents and parents to connect with their grandchildren and children through a fun, creative and entertaining adventurous story that will teach children how to recycle and put smiles on everyone’s faces.

Book protagonist Izzy goes on quite an adventure with his friends and his grandmother, Gram D. On this epic journey to Trash Mountain, they meet superheroes Rita Cycle and Trasher. The superhero duo teaches Izzy, Gram D and friends about the superpowers that help them properly dispose of trash and clean the planet.

With Izzy’s Trash Mountain Mystery, Debra wanted the story to be a source of fun and adventure through colorful illustrations and a creative story about how children, even though they may be small, can be a big part in helping to save the planet. This book teaches children to understand about recycling and how they can contribute to making the planet a cleaner, better place for all of us to live.

Debra Smalley is a mother, grandmother, wife and author with a passion for making education fun and accessible for children. Her new children’s book is her debut in the genre, with several more exciting and educational illustrated children’s books in the works. Having taught preschool, Debra has extensive experience in helping children learn new concepts and expand their horizons. During her teaching career, she also taught children with behavioral issues and learning disabilities. This experience has helped her create a simple yet inspiring book that will engage children of all ages and immerse them in positivity. A portion of proceeds from the book will be donated to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
