Your Business Group Experiences High Numbers Of Enquiries As People Quit Their Jobs Or Look For A Side Hustle In 2022.

A London based Digital Business Building website has experienced a large increase in the number of enquiries with an unprecedented number of people resigning from their jobs in 2021 and 2022. This is being dubbed ‘The Great Resignation’ across the world.

Since early 2021, YBG has seen a 25% upsurge in enquiries from people looking to leave their jobs and start online businesses. This has been particularly from people in the 25 to 55 age bracket.

Founders of YBG, Jey Jeynathan & Mat Bullock explained why they think this trend is occurring and how people are seeking better opportunities,

“In the past 24 months, a lot of people reevaluated their life and work situations. I think many people realised that they didn’t want to spend their lives working hard to make someone else rich. This prompted people to change their circumstances. ”

Equally, Jey & Mat also identified a growing trend among the digital generation to start their own businesses. They commented,

“Many people are tech savvy and with the massive increase in the cost of living, they realise the potential of running their own online digital businesses boom.”

This trend of people quitting their jobs is happening across the world with a Microsoft survey of 30,000 people showing that 41% were thinking of quitting or changing their professions in January. In March 2022 figures showed that 4.3 million people quit their jobs in January in the USA.

In 2021 a record number of almost 48 million people quit their jobs in the USA. This trend is being dubbed the ‘Great Resignation.’ In the UK a survey conducted suggested that a third of staff were thinking about changing their jobs in 2022. In Australia one in five people quit their jobs in 2021.

Co-Founder of YBG, Mat Bullock, speculated about other reasons for people leaving their jobs saying that people unhappy at work, ‘disgruntled with their job, boss, reliance on a salary (or salary-slave as I called it) and a risk of redundancy.’

Jey Jeyanathan described how he left the rat race years ago and now wants to help others. He ‘decided to create a central resource of tried and tested internet business models (cleaning agency, Virtual assistant business & digital marketing agencies) to help others wanting to go on the same journey.’ Setting up his own online businesses, Jey found freedom away from the 9 to 5 grind,

“The biggest change would be time-freedom. I would class this above financial freedom. I am free to conduct each day as I see fit. I don’t have a boss chasing me, or expecting me in the office.”

They also noticed the freedom of location of where they worked, “I can choose to work at home, office or coffee-shop or not at all, spending time at home with the family” Mat Commented.

For any budding entrepreneurs who want to quit the rat race and start their own business, Jey & Mat’s advice is ‘Go for it. You will never look back.
