Seattle-based Real Estate Expert Jim Thorpe Sponsors Easter Dinner for the Residents at Seattle's Union Gospel Mission

Seattle – On Sunday, April 17th, 2022, Seattle real estate expert, Jim Thorpe sponsored an Easter dinner for the residents of Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission (UGM).

As part of Thorpe’s mission to alleviate hunger and address food insecurity, the sponsorship provided 550 dinners to individuals at three of the non-profits’ local shelters; The Hope Shelter, Capitol Hill Shelter, and Men’s Shelter. Residents enjoyed a traditional Easter feast, complete with ham, twice-baked potatoes, green bean casserole, and fresh rolls.

“We could not help those in need on the level we do without support from our community. The generous Easter meal sponsorship from Summit Capital Partners offers the most basic need of stabilization so the ones we serve can start to imagine a different life.” – said Lori Schupack, BAM Coordinator for the Seattle Union Gospel Mission

The Seattle-based non-profit provides hot meals, shelter, and critical essentials to those in need. Additionally, they assist individuals with developing a stabilization plan for permanent housing and connecting them with community resources. The Easter Dinner Sponsorship is Thorpe’s first collaboration with UGM. He looks forward to working with them in the future and positively impacting those in need.

“Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission strives to help those in need. It was an honor to partner with a local non-profit that aligns with our philanthropic values.” – Jim Thorpe.

Thorpe’s previous efforts to address the growing food scarcity epidemic are demonstrated in his past philanthropic efforts. Last Fall, Thorpe hosted the 7th annual live-action haunted house at his home in Laurelhurst. In lieu of an entry fee, attendees were asked to donate $1.00 or a non-perishable good to benefit Northwest Harvest.  Not only did the event promote community unity, but it also provided the opportunity to give back. In total, the Laurelhurst Haunted House collected $5K and 5 tons of food throughout the three-day production.
