Malloc, the privacy and data security company most known for its Android app “AntiStalker Phone Security” which gained more than 500K downloads in a year and has been backed by Y Combinator in 2021,  revealed a new logo.

The new logo of Malloc was  ‘designed to pave the way for a new era of data privacy’ and facilitate the release of Malloc’s new products to be launched in summer 2022. Malloc’s new products include an iOs app focused on data protection and an App Security library for mobile apps.

The company created the new logo to encompass everything Malloc means. The shaped symbol reads as an M for ‘malloc’ yet utilises the M’s negative space to showcase a shield – the universal icon for protection and security. The Greek version of the ‘a’ was used to enhance the fact that Malloc was born in Cyprus in Europe, an origin which adds to the value of the company. The European Union was founded on the values of human rights and democracy, and it is a pioneer in the recognition and respect of individual privacy rights through tough data laws. Also, the letter ‘c’ is shaped in a subtle way to represent a key lock, thus enhancing the concept of security. The symbol was constructed using the Fibonacci circles, to ensure eye pleasing edges, create impact and enhance memorability.

Malloc has chosen black and blue to communicate its mission. Black represents security, power and control, and can come across as rebellious and aggressive.  Blue is often described as peaceful, tranquil, orderly and secure, and calls to mind feelings of calmness and serenity. What black and blue represent is completely aligned with Malloc’s goals to enable users to gain control over their data, secure their devices and be safe and protected.

Malloc has worked with EGG Design Studio for the creation of this logo and the rebranding.
