Women are finally starting to pay more attention to their hands! While ignored by most, the hands are actually the first place on our body to start showing signs of aging, 90% of which is caused by exposure to the sun. Couple that with the tremendous amount of time we spend in our cars – with little to no sun protection – and it’s a dangerous recipe for wrinkles, brown spots, and skin cancer.
Sol Amie, a name crafted by pairing the Spanish word for “sun” and the French word for “Friend”, is a new company with a mission to protect us against the harmful rays of the sun. Sol Amie creates safe, stylish sun protection products, highlighted by its signature UPF50+ driving glove set. Founder Christina San Jorge personally designed these gloves as a frustrated consumer who found no available solution to properly provide sufficient protection: “I was tired of ruining beautiful clothes while applying sunscreen in the car. I have two small children and everything in the car is just more complicated.” She searched extensively online for something to purchase but what she found was plain, had covered fingers, or was just very utilitarian looking. She wanted something comfortable but luxurious, effective and fashionable… and so the Sol Amie brand was born. The products are all handmade in the USA. Each detail is thoughtfully and intentionally designed. Original artwork was used for the Tropicana and Eyes of Protection prints. This woman owned business is garnering a lot of attention this season. The gloves are the must have item for the summer.
