Successful leaders come from all backgrounds, ethnicities, and financial standings. Senior project manager Digant Patel explains there isn’t a specific way to lead a team to success; however, effective leaders tend to share some of the same qualities.
“Quality leadership is essential to maintaining high team morale,” says Patel. “It also prevents turnover and leads companies to higher profits and success. The significant problem is that some individuals in leadership positions need to understand what it takes to engage a team and lead them in a way that benefits everyone.”
Mr. Patel recently discussed several key characteristics successful leaders often share.
Integrity and Ethics
The most essential characteristics of a successful leader are their ethics and integrity. A Robert Half consulting firm survey showed that 75 percent of employees saw integrity as a leader’s most essential trait. That is because integrity and ethics link to fairness.
Fairness encourages team members to feel safe in their work environment. They feel their leader will do what’s right for them and the business. They are confident they won’t be blindsided by the leader, leading to a superior commitment to the company’s success.
Excellent Communication Skills
Leading a team successfully with excellent communication skills is only poss ible whether online, over the phone, or in person. A remarkable leader can easily communicate with individuals of all ages and backgrounds. They can correctly share knowledge, motivate others, and hold team members accountable when necessary.
Digant Patel explained that an excellent communicator influences others by building trust, listening to their motivations, and sharing knowledgeable opinions. They know how to articulate thoughts and put them into action.
Encouraging Critical Thinking and Innovation
Nothing in the business world is cut and dry. Mistakes happen, problems pop up, and they need to be solved. An excellent leader encourages new ideas and risk-taking. This also often means the team leader can accept failure and continue moving forward.
According to an article by the Harvard Business School, a successful leader often rewards experimentation because breakthroughs generally occur while taking risks. Additionally, a qualified leader knows how to turn failures into learning experiences.
Digant Patel and Leading Major Projects
Mr. Patel is a successful leader. He is currently a hands-on senior project manager leading teams to design and implement successful IT projects. The projects he leads align IT and business objectives to reach quick and successful results.
Digant Patel understands that an effective leader isn’t “bossy.” He is just the opposite. A successful team leader listens to others, communicates clearly, and inspires team members to succeed. When individuals encounter success for themselves, they continue working toward success for the entire team.
